5 Ways to Style Art Prints in Your Home
Share
There is something special about choosing artwork for your home. It is more than decoration. The art you hang on your walls tells a story about who you are, what you love and the atmosphere you want to create.
As a pet portrait artist based in Glasgow, I create original pastel pencil drawings and turn some of them into high quality art prints so they can be enjoyed more widely. Over the past year I have spoken with so many people about how they display prints in their homes, and I thought I would share some of my favourite styling ideas with you.
Whether you live in a Glasgow tenement flat, a new build in Edinburgh or anywhere else in the UK, here are five ways to style art prints so they look beautiful and feel personal.
1. Create a Gallery Wall
Gallery walls are a wonderful way to bring character and personality into a space. Mix and match art prints, family photographs and even postcards or travel mementos. The trick is to choose a theme that ties everything together. That might be colour, subject or even just using frames in the same finish.
š This is the perfect place to feature multiple art prints from my shop together, creating a cohesive look.
2. Style a Print Shelf
If you do not want to commit to hanging everything, a simple print ledge or shelf is a flexible alternative. You can layer different sizes, overlap frames and easily switch pieces when you fancy a change.
I love this option because it lets you move your art prints around with the seasons, or mix them with candles, books and plants for a cosy feel.
3. Make a Statement with One Large Print
Sometimes less really is more. Choosing one large art print and giving it pride of place above a sofa, bed or fireplace can completely transform a room.
If you want impact but still want something affordable, an oversized art print is a brilliant choice. It draws the eye, adds colour and detail, and makes the space feel curated.
4. Pair Prints with Everyday Corners
Art does not always have to be hung in obvious places. Some of my favourite displays are when people place smaller prints in everyday corners; on a hallway console table, above a desk, or even leaning on a kitchen shelf.
These little touches make a house feel personal and lived in, turning blank spaces into something warm and welcoming.
5. Mix Art Prints with Originals
One of the joys of art prints is that they allow you to start an art collection without a huge budget. You can pair them with original works, whether that is one of my pastel pencil drawings or a piece from another artist you love, to create a layered and eclectic look.
Mixing originals and prints adds depth and interest to your walls, and it also means you can support different artists at different price points.

Styling Art Prints is Personal
There is no right or wrong way to display your art. The most important thing is that it feels like you. Prints are a chance to bring joy, personality and beauty into your home without needing to spend a fortune.
