Pups & Pints Dog Drawing Social in Shawlands: Why Smaller Is Better!

Pups & Pints Dog Drawing Social in Shawlands: Why Smaller Is Better!

If you’ve been following along with our Pups & Pints journey, you’ll know how much joy these get-togethers bring to me, the dogs, and all of you.

Our next dog drawing social is just around the corner on Tuesday 24th November at The Corona in Shawlands (right at the back of the pub!), and I'm really looking forward to it
.

As I look ahead to November's event, I’ve been reflecting a bit on how this community has grown and changed since I first started hosting them. Running local events is a constant learning curve, and I’ve picked up a few invaluable lessons along the way.

Embracing the Power of a Smaller Crowd

When I first kicked things off, my instinct was always the more, the merrier! But over time, I’ve introduced a strictly limited capacity for our meetups and honestly? It has completely transformed the vibe for the better.

Here is what I’ve learnt since starting, and why I’ve fallen completely in love with these cozier sessions:

  • A More Intimate Atmosphere: With fewer humans and hounds in the space, the room feels calm, warm, and welcoming. It's much less overwhelming for the dogs (and us introverted humans!), allowing everyone to settle in comfortably.

  • Proper Time to Chat: In a massive crowd, it's easy to get swept up and miss half the folks in the room. Keeping things small means I actually have the time to properly go round, catch up with familiar faces, welcome newcomers, and make a fuss of all your gorgeous pups up close.

  • Way Less Stressful for Me! Let’s be honest, organising events can be a nerve-wracking business. Trimming down the numbers has taken a massive weight off my shoulders, meaning I actually get to enjoy the evening right alongside you instead of running around panicking.

What to Expect at Our Shawlands Drawing Social

We’re heading back to The Corona in Shawlands (right at the back of the pub) on Tuesday 24th November, and I would love for you to join us.

If you've never been to one of our drawing socials before, here is how the evening flows:

  • The Star of the Show: We will have a real-life dog model holding court (don't worry, no one is expected to draw their own dog, just the wonderful guest of honour!).

  • The Schedule:

    • 6:45 pm | Arrival and getting settled with your drink.

    • 7:00 pm | We kick off the drawing, trying out some fun, low-pressure drawing exercises to loosen up.

    • 7:50 pm | A quick 10-minute break to stretch your legs and refresh your glass.

    • 8:00 pm to 8:30 pm | Wrapping up our drawings.

  • What’s Included: Your £18 ticket covers entry, all your drawing materials (we're focusing on sketching, not painting, so it's super accessible), and a complimentary spritz drink to help the creative juices flow (and non-alc drinks).

Why It’s a Wholesome Night Out in Glasgow

You certainly don’t need to be an expert at drawing to come along!

This is all about enjoying a relaxed evening in great company,
having a laugh, and sketching a very cute dog.

By grabbing an £18 ticket, you aren't just treating yourself to a lovely night out, you’re also supporting a local independent business at a really crucial time of the year, helping me keep this dream alive.

Spaces are heavily limited now because of our smaller cap, so if you fancy a wholesome evening of pups, pints, and pencils, drop me a message to secure your spot.

Can't wait to see you there!

See you soon,

Hannah
